March 26–A 24-year-old Bowling Green man could be looking at spending the next 20 years behind bars if he is convicted of child pornography charges.
A Warren County grand jury indicted Kyle Ray Miller, 3614 Garrett Hollow Road, on two counts of distribution of matter portraying a sexual performance by a minor and 20 counts of possession of matter portraying a sexual performance by a minor, according to the indictment filed in Warren Circuit Court.
Kathryn Reed, an investigator for the Kentucky Office of the Attorney General, presented the case against Miller to a grand jury Wednesday.
The attorney general’s office’s Cybercrimes Unit investigated the case, Warren County Commonwealth’s Attorney Chris Cohron said.
The Cybercrimes Unit has opened more than 230 child porn cases since that division was created in 2008, according to a release from the attorney general’s office. That unit has also seized more than 300,000 child porn images and videos from the Internet.
Miller is accused of swapping child pornography in exchange for other users’ child pornography, Cohron said. Miller does not have a previous criminal history.
The attorney general’s office continues to investigate the case and additional charges could follow, Cohron said.
Cohron declined to comment on the age of the children depicted in the evidence.
“Anytime we have any case involving child pornography, the images or videos are referred to the National Center for Missing and Exploited children for follow-up investigation,” Cohron said.
Miller is in Warren County Regional Jail under a $10,000 cash bond. A call to his defense attorney was not immediately returned this morning.
