Iowa DOT – building improvement (only) for sale east of Tama

AMES, Iowa – Jan. 26, 2012 – The Iowa Department of Transportation (DOT) is offering a pole building with metal siding for sale. The building is located at 2369 U.S. 30, west of O Avenue and east of Tama.

The 63.5′ x 40′ utility shed consists of a 45.5′ x 40′ shop/warehouse area with a 14′ wall-height section, and combination office and warehouse area measuring 18′ x 40′ with a 10′ wall height. A small, wood frame storage shed is attached to the east side of the building that measures 18′ x 40′ with a 6′ sidewall height. The building is improved with a small, low-cost office with a half bath. The building is improved with three 3′ x 7′ metal doors, two 10′ x 10′ fiberglass overhead doors and one 12′ x 12′ overhead door.

The building will be open for inspection Feb. 15, 2012, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Bids are due by 1 p.m. Feb. 22, 2012. The entire building, except the concrete slab, must be removed from the site. The purchaser will have until April 23, 2012, to remove the building. Terms of the sale are cash only.

The Iowa DOT acquires real estate for highway improvement projects statewide.
