Two men face criminal charges after two small explosions late Wednesday night in northwest Cedar Rapids.

Jacob W. Boots, 21, and Brett M. Moore, 27, were charged with reckless use of fire, accused of making “MacGyver” bombs. According to a criminal complaint, the pair combined ingredients in 20-ounce plastic bottles to cause the explosions.
