Crisis Intervention’s Executive Director Mary J. Ingham accepted a check for $1250, and Trinity House of Hope’s Director Joey Vanzomeren also accepted a check for $1250.

The donations were raised from the proceeds from the annual book sale that the Woman’s Club held in October.

“We really appreciate this,” Vanzomeran said. “This will really be very helpful. We have about 52 women and men, right now, and 7 children we are taking care of. Hopefully we can provide them… hope for the future.”

After the checks were presented, the Newman Choir performed for the group, singing holiday favorites such as “Jingle Bells,” “Away In a Manger” and “Silent Night.” The youngsters asked for crowd participation for the final number, “The 12 Days of Christmas.” (See video.)

The Mason City Woman’s Club is celebrating its 90th year in existence and has about 150 members.
