MASON CITY – Wednesday was Appreciation Day at Carlos O’Kelly’s. People were there to celebrate with family, friends, neighbors and co-workers to “Enjoy wonderful food and help to give to our Youth”.
As you walked in the front door of Carlos O’Kelly’s, there were smiles and greetings from some of the North Iowa Youth Center kids. They were handing out fliers that explained what the North Iowa Youth Center had to offer, the hours, the costs, the address and the name of the man who makes it all possible, Youth Director Regan Banks.
The General Manager of Carlos O’Kelly’s, Paul Unsen, said “We are giving 10% of all sales today on food, drinks and carry outs to the North Iowa Youth Center. We have helped with other organizations and were asked to help with this one. We said we’d be more than happy to help. We’ve been steady and basically just having fun.”
Regan Banks, North Iowa Youth Center Director, was at Carlos O’Kelly’s with the kids. “They are having fun and it’s great of Carlo’s O’Kelly’s for doing this,” he said. He was also doing his part of giving back, feasting “on this wonderful food being served here.”
