MASON CITY – The Cerro Gordo County Supervisors met Tuesday morning and OK’d a refinancing plan for up to $9.5 million in county debt. There will be a November 15th, 2011 meeting held at 10:00 a.m. on the matter. General Obligation bonds will be refinanced at a lower rate once the plan is finalized. “We can take advantage of the low interest rates,” said Supervisor Jay Urdahl.
In other business, a plan was approved to have aerial photographs taken of Cerro Gordo County. Yaggy Colby will place targets around the county to help pinpoint locations in photographs at a cost of between $100 and $125 per target. An agreement was OK’d with Dan Corbin, Inc. for photogrammetric consulting services.
A memo of understanding was signed with the Youth Task Force.
The Supervisors considered a Building & Grounds Committee recommendation that would limit access to the southwest door of the courthouse for security reasons. Installation of a card reader at that door would also take place. The public could exit the door but not enter. This was agreed upon by 3-0 vote.
