MASON CITY – United Way of North Central Iowa will be holding “SCRAP FOR CHANGE” a scrap metal drive on Saturday, October 15 from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. Behr Iron & Metal Recycling will provide a bin in the parking lots of both Hy-Vee East (551 South Illinois Avenue) and Larry Elwood Construction (2401 South Federal Avenue) both in Mason City, IA. The donated metal will then be redeemed for cash at Behr Iron & Metal Recycling and all proceeds will benefit United Way of North Central Iowa.
“This is a simple way to donate to United Way – plus, a great excuse to clear out your yard or land” says Tiffany Rottinghaus, United Way of North Central Iowa Regional Coordinator. Interested donors can bring their scrap items to either of the two drop-off locations, or call 423-1774 to arrange a free pick-up on Saturday, October 15. Pick-ups can be arranged anywhere in Cerro Gordo County.
