Jose Barragan is a candidate for City Council

MASON CITY – barragan_jose has filed to run for the Mason City City Council.

Barragan is a candidate for the at-large seat currently held by Max Weaver. Barragan will be up against Alex Kuhn and Sandy Servantez for that seat.

Barragan is 50 years old and told NorthIowaToday.com he wants to “add to the integrity of the council.”

Barragan also said his goal is “jobs, jobs, jobs” for the city and that he wants to “give transparency to citizens with a vote.”

Barragan described a “citizen’s committee” he wants to form.

“I want to form a committee to help me make the best vote possible, every time. I would select people from public service, business, insurance, economics, banking and legal professions and one ‘regular citizen’ to be on the committee.”

Barragan also said the committee would “brainstorm ideas.”

Barragan said he once ran an auto body shop and at this time is unemployed.

Barragan also asked NorthIowaToday.com to let readers know that campaign contributions can be mailed to his home at 49 Sunny Circle in Mason City.
