The Mason City Civil Service Commission will meet Thursday at noon at City Hall.
Besides approving the agenda and the minutes from the last meeting, held August 16th, the commission will set a hearing date for an appeal by a Mason City Police Officer, Maria Ohl, that was terminated from the MCPD. Ohl is appealing to the comisssion to get her job back, according to Commissioner Matt Dodge.
The hearing will set a date for a new hearing or trial that will decide if Ohl can be reinstated.

The Civil Service Commission of the City of Mason City governs appointments, promotions, transfers, dismissals, discipline, and other related conditions on the basis of merit as stipulated in the Code of Iowa, Chapter 400.
The Human Resources Department is responsible for the day-to-day administration of these responsibilities in fulfilling the Commission’s empowered duties.
Current commissioners are: Michael Svejda, Dan Conway and Matt Dodge.|
