Ticketing for the following violations began Friday, July 1, in Iowa:
– All persons under 18 must use a safety restraint, regardless of vehicle seating position.
– All drivers are prohibited from texting while driving.
– Teen drivers with restricted driver’s licenses are prohibited from using any electronic communication or entertainment device while driving.
The texting law was signed into law last year by Then-Governor Culver but ticketing started just this year. Only warnings were issued prior to July 1, 2011.|
