More races from I-35 Speedway Monday evening

MASON CITY – The I-35 Speedway hosted a second set of races Monday night starting at 6:00 pm. After the first set, the track was very dry. The cars flying around the track made it so the cars could barely be seen. The drivers had a hard time too.

They started wetting the track down with water. Sometimes after every race. This keep the dirt down and visability had greatly improved, but it caused cars to spinout and lose control.

Today was a race lovers dream. Total race after race from 1:00 pm to estimated 10:00 pm. There were many cars, heats, and classes. With the heat, the wind, the dirt and the excitement, people that attended both races are sure to sleep well.

By late afternoon the cars speeding around the track left clouds of black dirt filling the air. Many cars had a hard time seeing coming around the turns. They did bring out the water truck to settle the dirt. Sometimes watering between every race. During some of the races, the watering caused for more spinouts, donuts and wall hitting.

Besides the heat and the dirt, the day was a great success. For the race lover, it was a perfect day. Race after race, cars coming on the track as cars were leaving the track. There were so many cars, and so many races it would make any race lover happy.
