Library director Mary Markwalter said “We have had the good fortune to†have several different organizations work on cleaning up the trails and the creekside area. The DNR started the cleanup in the Summer of 2009 after the 2008 flood.† Mason City operations cleaned out a lot of downed trees and other materials that had floated down the creek.† We hired a local tree removal service to remove some very difficult to reach downed trees, and to clean up brush piles.† Large groups and individuals have volunteered to cleanup the trails and remove brush.† Over the past two summers these various crews have come in to help us make the scenery along the creek look attractive again.††We†thank everyone who helped us.”
