MASON CITY, IA ñ An old-fashioned afternoon of free movie cartoons, popcorn, and refreshments will be presented Saturday afternoon, March 19, in the Mason City Room at the public library. The event is sponsored by the Mason City Friends of the Library, a non-profit organization founded to support the library and its programs. The movies will be shown from 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm. Seating is on a first-come, first served basis. Children must be accompanied by an adult and grown-ups are expected to enjoy their favorites just as much as the younger crowd.
The cartoons to be shown are from the collection of Craig Binnebose who also will bring his old-fashioned popcorn machine to provide free popcorn. Free bottled water and pop is being provided by Hy-Vee Drug Store.
