The Mason City Sunrise Rotary held a celebration Thursday morning at the Mason City Library.
The Mason City Sunrise Rotary gave two grants that morning to local entities that serve youth in Middle and High School. One grant was for $3000.00 to Mason City High School for classroom technology.

The other grant was for $2500.00 to support the Summer Reading Program this year at Mason City Public Library.
Also, the Rotary achieved the first and only Paul Harris Club status in its District. According to Mary Markwalter, a Rotary member, “This is a big deal because that means that each of our members has given $1000.00 or more to the Rotary Foundation-which support worldwide project and district simplified grants. In fact, we received one of those grants in order to give money to the new gazebo and gardens at North Iowa Hospice.”
