Two Mason City men were injured in an accident on the Avenue of the Saints south of Mason City on December 24th at 3:47 PM.
Daniel Beaver was driving a 1997 Ford F15 on the slushy and wet roadway when he lost control of the vehicle. According to the State Patrol report, Beaver was driving too fast for the conditions and the vehicle slid into the median, rolled one time and came to rest of the driver side facing northwest.
Beaver, 27, was trapped and had to be extricated by mechanical means. Beaver suffered an “incapacitating” injury during the accident and was ticketed for no seatbelt and failure to maintain control of the vehicle.
Also injured in the accident was 18 year old Derrick Tobin, who also suffered an “incapacitating” injury. He was transported by ambulance to Mercy Hospital in Mason City.|
