A Mason City Parks & Rec. Department program has Santa set to call about 98 kids Wednesday evening.
Brian Pauly, Interim Parks & Rec. Director, came up with the program for Mason City after participating in a similar program in Naval Air Station Key West, Fla. “The kids there loved it, so we thought we would try it here,” Pauly said. Pauly was in charge of child and youth programs at Key West.
The program was for children aged 2 to 8. About 98 kids were set to get a call from Santa, as of Wednesday afternoon. The calls were made between 6 PM and 8 PM by six volunteers. The Mason City Volunteer Program helped find the volunteers to make the calls.|
