The City held a tour of the house today at the Egloff House, calling it “THE WORLD’S WORST HOLIDAY OPEN HOUSE.” NorthIowaToday.com was in attendance and snapped a few photos and took a look around.

According to City Councilman Max Weaver, “The City might use it for offices of some kind. They want to save it.”

City Planner Tricia Sandahl called the house “the big white funky looking house… beautiful and truly a one-of-a-kind building.”

The Egloff House is one of eleven properties that the City has identified as either eligible for the National Register of Historic Places or were contributing to a National Historic District. In order to preserve the buildings until such time as they can be relocated, the City has committed to “mothballing” the houses.
