Crews are working hard to give motorists another option to navigate through downtown Mason City.|
If all goes well, the intersection at North Federal Avenue and 2nd Street will soon be open.
Workers were there this morning working in cold temps to get the intersection ready for traffic. Traffic in downtown Mason City has been snarled due to construction work on the Streetscape project in the area.
Troy Levenhagen, owner of Suzie Q Cafe which is located right next to the intesection, told NorthIowaToday.com that construction work has slowed business, “but we’re doing OK. Opening that intersection will help.”
The intersection would likely be closed again this Spring when work resumes on the project.
