Adult use ordinances should be relaxed, Councilman Weaver says

He thinks it’s worth a try to re-visit those times and give entrepreneurs a chance to give an adult-style business a go.

Currently under Mason City’s zoning ordinances, it would be next to impossible to open an adult-style business in downtown Mason City. Those types of businesses, by law, must be a certain number of feet away from schools, churches and residential buildings and homes.

Mr. Weaver is proposing relaxing or loosening those ordinances so that entrepreneurs that want to open an adult-style business can do so. He is looking for “common ground” between those entrepreneurs and City officials.
