MASON CITY – The Mason City Police Department, along with the assistance of the United States Secret Service, has issued an arrest warrant for a suspect connected to possible credit card fraud at a local nail salon.
The Mason City Police Department, along with the assistance of the United States Secret Service, has issued an arrest warrant for Nam Huu Nguyen (pictured at top), age 36, of Ames, Iowa. Nguyen is wanted in connection to his involvement with L&D #1 Nails at 640 S. Monroe Ave. in Mason City, Iowa. Nguyen is suspected in the theft and fraudulent use of customer’s credit card information during the months of September and October 2010. Four warrants have been issued for Nguyen’s arrest. Three warrants for credit card fraud, each a class “D” felony, and one warrant for ongoing criminal conduct, a class “C” felony. Anyone with information regarding Nguyen’s whereabouts should contact their local police department.
Nam is a licensed nail technician with the State of Iowa. He has had multiple addresses thorughout the United States and may seek employment as a nail tech in other states as well. L&D Nails has cooperated fully with this investigation and has terminated Nguyen’s employment, according to police. Since Nguyen has left L&D Nails, he is no longer obtaining credit card information from L&D Nails’ customers.
Additionally, all customers of L&D #1 Nails are encouraged to review their credit or debit card statements for the months of September and October 2010 and report any unusual charges to their bank as well as the Mason City Police Department. This case is on-going and anyone with additional information regarding this case is also asked to contact Mason City Police Department.
