MASON CITY – Mason City Police were alerted to a possible email scam this week.
Police claim a caller stated that she received an email from her paster, stating that she was out of the county and needed money. The caller informed officers that she knew it was a scam because her paster was at the church teaching a class.
Officers advised the caller to contact her paster and other members of the church to let them know of the scam.
