Charles Grassley

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Iowa Senator Chuck Grassley lashed out today at the safety of marijuana, citing a study.

According to Senator Grassley, a study in a “prestigious” journal “contradicts the growing perception, especially among teen-agers, that marijuana use is harmless”. The study says “cumulative lifetime exposure to marijuana remained significantly associated with worse verbal memory.”

He didn’t name the journal nor the name of the study.

“This study follows one from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention showing that people who are addicted to marijuana are three times more likely to be addicted to heroin,” Senator Grassley explained. “Deaths from heroin and prescription opioid overdoses have increased dramatically in recent years”.

Senator Grassley pushes for strong enforcement of federal anti-drug laws as chairman of the Judiciary Committee and the Caucus on International Narcotics Control. He has served in the Congress since 1975 and became a senator in 1981. He is up for re-election this year.

“We have laws for a reason and I stand by what i said, anyone who doesn’t want to obey our laws can leave. We have a process in this country. If you don’t like a law lobby to get it changed. Do not become a criminal because you don’t believe in something.”

Direct quote by LVS addressing a US Marine combat veteran who uses medical marijuana to help alleviate PTSD

Iowa Code 321.436 states that Every motor vehicle shall at all times be equipped with a muffler in good working order and in constant operation to prevent excessive or unusual noise and annoying smoke, and no person shall use a muffler cutout, bypass or similar device upon a motor vehicle on a highway.

I don’t see how any more clear it can be stated by both LVS and the Iowa Code.

Furthermore, I want an apology from both LVS and Buzz Crumcutter and an admission by them that they acknowledge they are in the wrong and that Buzz deliberately attacks and bullies me because he disagrees with the Iowa Code 321.436 Mufflers, Prevention of Noise and is fearful of my efforts to have the law enforced by police. And that LVS once supported my efforts to quiet the streets but reversed himself when he realized I was pro-marijuana reform.

These are the truths people. Everything you have witnessed on NIT has been a desperate attempt to hide these truths by BUZZ, LVS, and several others.

Hey Peter, how about you apologize for defending and supporting pedophiles! LVS and Buzz disagreeing with you on a loud noise is a far cry from you supporting pedophiles! My bet is LVS & Buzz don’t apologize to you and shouldn’t have to!

What you are doing Larry is attempting to use a separate topic of debate to cancel out the one at hand. LVS has stated that he believes people should follow the laws on the books and lobby to have the laws changed if they don’t like them. This is a view that I share. I find it peculiar how he conveniently omits the Loud Tailpipe / Muffler laws from his own purported standards when it suits him. He knows this though, and for Buzz, LVS and others, they’d much rather continue the censorship game rather than admit to their impropriety and double standards. As far as pedophilia goes…again I’m asking people to follow the laws, and people were asking for pedophiles to be beaten to death and shot in the head with guns and that is not within the scope of sentencing guidelines. If you want to be by the book…then be by the book.

Buzz you are a bold face liar. You were the one coordinating the Harley Davidson Riding Club events on NIT when the big banner was advertising on the front page for a while. I saw your comments inviting people to the events. You have repeatedly used loud tailpipes to aggravate and harass me with “Vroom, Vroom” quotes. Regardless of whether you own a Harley or other vehicle with loud tailpipes or not, you are directly involved with the effort to badger and belittle me off this page to stop my public awareness campaign to quiet the streets and enforce compliance to 321.436 of IOWA CODE. Your comments now continue your longstanding tradition of harassment and belittlement of me. You cannot win this issue by any legal or logical method, and so you resort to censorship, and badgering of me to achieve your intended result.

“This basically comes down to tailpipes in my opinion,” Lagios said. “If this is a community that wants loud tailpipes then I am going to have to leave.” Peter the Liar / Lagios May 7, 2012

Buzz do you understand the Iowa Code 321.436 Mufflers, Prevention of Noise? You act as though that law doesn’t exist. Last time I checked, the State laws trump whatever city, or county laws or cultural habits may be in place. And yes, you are the main organizer behind the Harley Hog Riding Club or whatever its called. Now, you may be some other person using Buzz Crumcutter as a handle, but that’s not a level of distinction or clarity I’m required to meet. The Buzz Crumcutter I saw was actively promoting and recruiting Rider Club events.

I, also, would appreciate knowing what Prestigious Journals Sen. Grassley arrived at his decision from. I find this highly unlickly from anything recent, since 99.9% of new articles have squashed all of the illogical ideas he has written about. It is a very sad & sic thing to realize that more than 95% of our Congressmen NEED to RETIRE & let the New more open to New concepts of the health of so many are still unfortunately at their selfish hands! WAKE-UP & get an OPEN mind on what your narrow minded brains just cannot seem to fathom! Have any of you gone back far enough in History to Realize that DOW PLASTICS IS the reason that HEMP was banned in the first place!! I, as a Cancer Survivor only wish what I know would have helped me then & yes, even now, due to severe chronic pain issues that I will live with till my death. If these blind congressmen would only open their eyes & realize that YES their Drinking is more of a danger than marijuana Ever was or ever could be! Alcohol causes more deaths than flying..smoking marijuana, falling in youyr tub! Oh Yes!! Lets not forget that congressmen can & do take advantage of having drivers, guess that makes their drinking ways ‘ligit’ in their eyes, hmm? I am 60+yrs old & I would give anything to have marijuana legalized so that I did not have to take the pain meds I do nor the injections in my lumbar & knees that I have to have now! Bet they don’t comprehend what the actual taxes of this would do in HELPING the debts of our country that all of them helped to put there! Plus, byb legalizing it..they would be helping to rid our country of the gangs that think they are helping…when instead our government is ‘helping’ them by…ya know? WAKE UP CONGRESS!! Do your homework..PLEASE!!

See they want cerro gordo and mitchell counties to jump in. The obamma lawful mafia at work putting the screws to the taxpayers. Bail out the banks and save America! If it is medical marijuana then it would be regulated. If you think it might shorten your life then listen. My daughter has triple negative breast cancer and they have given her 3 to 5 years and she is in a lot of pain. It is a very unique Cancer and I think it would help her. She is only 50 years old.

LVS you call these people dopers, brain dead stoners without even knowing them. You tell your fellow Americans that if they don’t agree with you that they should leave the country. Your thought process is directly associated to the growing problem in this great nation. Someone who has a difference in opinion than you, you automatically attack without a sense reason or understanding of who they are or where they come from. I myself partake in the use of cannabis from time to time. Not for recreational use to “party” or for the sensation of being “high”. I am a United States Marine Corps combat veteran who suffers from ptsd, and bouts of intense and severe rage. I have been prescribed every narcotic available to the human race in order to help control my fits of rage. You want to talk about “brain dead” as you so eloquently put it try being medicated to a nearly comatose state. Would you like to know something more dangerous than the use of marijuana? Try a combat hardened U.S. Marine who occasionally finds himself in a “nothing to lose” state of mind. Many veterans, myself included would either be in a jail cell or six feet under earth if it wasn’t for the medicinal use of marijuana.
And try telling me to leave the country that I and many of my friends have spilt blood for.

Anonymous/U.S. Marine-First of all I would like to thank you for your service and sacrifices to this great country and for the freedoms I enjoy every day, it is a dept we all owe you and your comrades. I am sorry to hear about your condition but am glad you have found something to help, I too have used from time to time to help relieve migraine headaches, something far less serious than you are dealing with, and think you should be able to get your relief without breaking the law. As far as LVS goes, the only thing he knows how to do is lash out and call names of people that do not see things his way, he has always been that way and I think he will always be that way. He has become the N.I.T bully….Kind of sad isn’t it. Thanks again for your service and I pray you will get better.

If you are who I think YOU are. You’re an idiot. Things that are illegal become legal when we change the laws. Does that make them less moral or more “evil” when they were illegal than when the laws get changed or abolished. Don’t be one of those morons who thinks something is evil SIMPLY because it’s illegal. FYI guns you possess are illegal in other parts of the world. Are you evil or immoral according to people who live in other parts of the world?

What do you think is happening here? People are educating themselves and having a discussion to bring about change of an archaic law. This is democracy in action, brought about by the “lazy stoners” you love to chastise. You should be proud and supportive, you agree marijuana has benefits and that it’s less dangerous than alcohol. Yet you can’t help but be a grumpy old ass about everything. Grow up and use your brain.

Marijuana is way way safer then Alcohol but the old guys just see what they were taught back in the day and will never see the truth for what it is. You have to take LVS’s, and Grassley’s, comments on this subject with a grain of salt just because of their age.

So what is the medical use for cigarettes, and beer? Perhaps we should have milk be a schedule 1, because everyone I know that has smoked pot used milk first. Milk must be the gateway drug to marijuana.
