Two Iowans dead in auto crash

DECATUR COUNTY – Two Iowans were killed when a driver ran a stop sign and t-boned a pickup truck.

According to the Iowa State Patrol, the accident took place Friday, May 10, 2024. At 7:40 PM that evening in Decatur county, a 2019 Chevy Equinox driven by 55-year-old Robin Ann Reaves of Urbandale was traveling northbound on Lineville Road and failed to stop at the intersection at Highway 2. The Equinox t-boned a 2023 Chevy Silverado driven by 36-year-old Levi Clark Merritt of Osceola.

As a result of the collision, Reaves and a passenger, 46-year-old Lance Eugene Reaves of Lineville, Iowa, were both ejected from their vehicle. They were both pronounced deceased at the scene. Merritt was taken to a hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries and released.
