AMES – No. 12 Iowa State couldn’t capture that Hilton magic Saturday night and fell at home to Baylor, 76-70.

AMES – The No. 13 Iowa State Cyclones remained unbeaten at home in soundly defeating No. 8 Kansas, 68-53, Saturday afternoon in Hilton Coliseum.

BOONE COUNTY – Two Iowa women are dead after a t-bone car accident in Boone county.
Bill Stoynoff, the son of Nick and Tonna Stoynoff, died January 30th of cardiac and renal failure brought on by amyloidosis. He was 92. Bill was born June 27, 1930 in Mason City, Iowa and spent his entire life living in the area.
David D. Brunner, age 79, of Osage, passed away on Thursday, February 2, 2023, at MCRHC with family by his side.
Ronald “Ronnie” Eugene Woolery, “Skin Tight”, 75, passed away on Saturday January 28, 2023 in his Mason City, IA home.
RURAL FORT DODGE – A man was found dead in a bean field near Fort Dodge almost seven years ago, and police say they now have a suspect in custody, charged with murder in the first degree.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Tuesday, Feb 7th, at 11:00AM at Trinity Lutheran Church, 213 North Pennsylvania Ave., Mason City, with Rev. Dan Gerrietts officiating.

Stella Mae Eischen passed to eternal life on February 1, 2023, at the Kossuth Regional Health Center, Algona, Iowa, surrounded by family and friends. Stella was born to William and Esther (Wolf) Mayer on Christmas Day, 1924, on a farm near St. Benedict, Iowa.
