COLUMBUS, OHIO – Ohio State snapped Iowa’s four-game win streak and beat the Hawkeyes in Value City Arena for the first time since 2019.

CHARLES CITY – The Floyd County Community Foundation held its 2022 grant awards celebration and announced $149,997.74 to 25 projects of organizations serving Floyd County.

IOWA CITY – Three falls and a total of four bonus point wins propelled the second-ranked University of Iowa wrestling team to a 34-6 thrashing of No. 11 Nebraska on Friday night inside Carver-Hawkeye Arena.
Robert (Bob) Watson 96, of Mason City, Iowa passed away Sunday, January 15, 2023 at MercyOne North Iowa Hospice surrounded by family. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
CLEAR LAKE – The City of Clear Lake and Clear Lake Historical Society announced that on Friday, January 6, 2023 they received notice from the National Historic Landmarks Program of the National Park Service that Clear Lake’s Seawall, constructed in May of 1936, has been placed on the National Register of Historic Places.

David Allen “Goat” Simpson, the son of R. Dwight and Deona (Johnston) Simpson was born on June 23, 1952 in Algona, Iowa. He passed away on January 16, 2023 in Graettinger, Iowa at the age of 70 years.
FOREST CITY – The Waldorf University Men’s Wrestling team will once again take center stage at the Boman Fine Arts Center on Wednesday, Jan. 25th during the Battle at the Boman event.
Winifred Eileen “Winnie” Mack was born on June 25, 1921, in Harcourt, IA. On Tuesday, January 17, 2023, Winnie passed from this life at the age of 101 years.
