Lori Johnson, 56, of Charles City, passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, January 12, 2022.
A funeral for Lori will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 21, 2022 at Hauser Weishaar Funeral Home with Pastor Daniel Larson officiating. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Charles City.
A visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 20, 2022 at Hauser Weishaar Funeral Home and continue one hour prior to the service on Friday.
Lori Lynn Johnson (Deetz), the daughter of Vern and Gladys (Thompson) Deetz, was born on November 1, 1965 in Floyd County. She graduated from Charles City High School in 1984. On February 8, 1985, she was united in marriage to Mark Johnson at Trinity United Methodist Church in Charles City.
Lori was a CNA at the Nora Springs Care Center and most recently a CNA at Apple Valley Assisted Living in Charles City. Lori’s most favorite job was delivering the Waterloo Courier for the past 20 plus years. She met many amazing people along her route and even adopted some of their dogs. Lori loved animals and rescued many dogs throughout her life. Lori enjoyed watching her soap operas and spending time outdoors.
Living family members include her husband, Mark; children: Nicholas Johnson, Brandi (Casey) Noble, Casey Johnson, and Destiny Johnson; grandchildren: Gabriel, Zander, Ariana, Tayvonee, and Zechariah; siblings: Steven (Judy) Deetz, David Deetz, Shelia (Don) Novak, Brian (Kathy) Deetz, Kevin Deetz, and Sharla (Rob) Held; sisters-in-law, Sheryl (Dave) Jeffrey and Nancy (Bryan) Boggess; and brother-in-law, Tony Putney; along with many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Vern and Gladys; and sister-in-law, Mitzi Putney.
