Kim Reynolds to spend $100 million of Joe Biden’s American Rescue Plan – which she opposed – on Iowa’s water quality

Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds (a two-time drunk driver) is now spending the money Joe Biden made possible (that she didn’t want), to make Iowa’s notoriously filthy, polluted water better.

DES MOINES – Gov. Kim Reynolds announced she is ready to spend tens-of-millions of dollars President Joe Biden and Democrats made possible (that she didn’t want), to make Iowa’s notoriously filthy, polluted water better.

Kim Reynolds announced this week a “historic” $100M investment in water infrastructure and water quality efforts for the State of Iowa – using money made possible by Democrats and President Joe Biden’s American Rescue Plan, which Reynolds and all of Iowa’s Republican Congressmen opposed.

Through a new grant program within Iowa Finance Authority, Gov. Reynolds is allocating $75M for the Water Infrastructure Fund. The funding will come through federal ARPA dollars (President Joe Biden’s American Rescue Plan) and will support projects aimed at reducing excess nutrients, improving drought resiliency, reducing flood risks, improving public health, promoting reuse of water and wastewater and providing significant economic benefits to communities and the state. The grant application process will open December 15.

“We recognize the value and importance of water quality and what that means to families, businesses and economic prosperity for our state,” said Gov. Reynolds. “That’s why we remain committed to improving Iowa’s water quality and providing these historic investments to local communities, landowners and organizations that aim to protect, preserve and restore Iowa’s water resources.”

An additional $25M will be allocated to the Conservation Infrastructure Project at the Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship.

President Joe Biden’s infrastructure bill made this headline that Kim Reynolds wanted, possible. But Iowans are not fooled by Kim Reynolds, who drove drunk two times and was convicted two times.

The Iowa Conservation Infrastructure Project brings together both public and private resources to advance the mission of the Iowa Nutrient Reduction Strategy. In doing so, improvements will be made in priority watersheds to improve water quality, habitat, recreation opportunities and carbon sequestration.

“We’re not done yet,” said Reynolds, evidently looking to cash in even more on the Democrats’ bill that she vehemently opposed.

“The first bill that I signed into law as Governor was Senate File 512—providing long-term dedicated funding for water quality; and since then, I’ve signed into law a 10-year extension to keep building on Iowa’s strong record of conservation. This additional funding will provide even more cost-share incentives for Iowa’s farmers and landowners to accelerate construction of conservation practices and improve water quality.”

Kim will probably divert the money somewhere else. Maybe to pay the attorney’s fees she has racked up since she took office. https://www.desmoinesregister.com/story/news/2021/12/15/iowa-must-pay-lawyers-fees-eldora-boys-school-torture-case-appeals-court/8911099002/

She doesn’t obey Iowa open record laws so whatever she does with this money is up to her – and no one else.

She is getting sued by several groups for refusing to hand over records.

AMAC, a conscientious choice to AARP, check it out.

When governments correctly focus on more important problems, climate alarmists feel left out in the cold.

When a Democrat says” give me””…… Laugh at Them!!!

Students are struggling to cope in the classroom. They’re acting out/misbehaving. With all the fall out coming from the pandemic it might be a good idea to give the teachers all a big raise. Use some of that money for that. Could be wrong, but doubt it.

you are wrong. with that logic everybody who WORKED thru this needs a big raise

The most widespread contaminant found in Iowa drinking water aside from those that are the results of the treatment processes was nitrate, which can leach from fertilized crop fields into rivers that are sources of drinking water.

At least it’s going to benefit Iowan’s, and not illegal vermin.
