Biden Administration requests millions in extra funding for more cops

President Joe Biden
WASHINGTON – The Department of Justice today announced more than $139 million in grant funding through the department’s Office of Community Oriented Policing Services (COPS Office) COPS Hiring Program (CHP). The awards provide direct funding to 183 law enforcement agencies across the nation, allowing those agencies to hire 1,066 additional full-time law enforcement professionals. In the Northern District of Iowa, two cities were awarded funding totaling $250,000.

“We are committed to providing police departments with the resources needed to help ensure community safety and build community trust,” said Attorney General Merrick B. Garland. “The grants we are announcing today will enable law enforcement agencies across the country to hire more than 1,000 additional officers to support vitally important community oriented policing programs.”

The following cities in the Northern District of Iowa received awards:

Dysart – $125,000
Sheldon – $125,000

“The grants awarded to Dysart and Sheldon will provide those cities the opportunity to hire officers who will further develop community oriented policing programs. Each city will be made safer by doing so,” said Acting United States Attorney Sean R. Berry.

CHP is a competitive award program intended to reduce crime and advance public safety through community policing. CHP provides funds directly to law enforcement agencies to hire new or rehire additional career law enforcement officers, thereby increasing their community policing capacity and crime prevention efforts. Of the 183 agencies awarded grants today, approximately half will use the funding to focus on building legitimacy and trust between law enforcement and communities; 41 agencies will seek to address high rates of gun violence; 21 will focus on other areas of violence; and 19 will focus CHP resources on combating hate and domestic extremism or supporting police-based responses to persons in crisis. The complete list of awards can be found here.

Since its creation in 1994, COPS has invested more than $14 billion to advance community policing, including grants awarded to more than 13,000 state, local and Tribal law enforcement agencies to fund the hiring and redeployment of more than 135,000 officers. CHP, COPS’ flagship program, continues to be in demand today: In FY21, COPS received 590 applications requesting nearly 3,000 law enforcement positions. For FY22, President Biden has requested $537 million for CHP, an increase of $300 million.

The FBI, CIA, NSA and Homeland security have all turned against America and her citizens! All members of Congress that were promoting anti-American thinking and behavior and promoted lawlessness and property damage must be prosecuted! When someone declares war on you.
It’s an eye for an eye and you fight fire with fire!

As far as I am concerned, throw both parties out of Congress. We need people that can make decisions that will help this country!!! We have no adults in Congress, we have babies.

By 2024 we are not going to recognize the country Trump loves. Somehow, he needs to be back in control before then. Maybe the midterms will be a great assistance if an overwhelming number of politically true conservative thinking Americans are elected into office.

It should be illegal for Medicare and Medicaid to withhold payments If the facility not 100 percent vaxxed. We pay for Medicare and they are saying their political agenda is more important than people’s lives.

Does anyone care about all the black people murdered in all those socialist cities run by democrats? Come on FOOLS try to be LIONS instead of SHEEP!!

Global warming,BLM, Antifa all fronts to kill capitalism and American Excellence.

Lets go back to the days where Americans weren’t MARXIST FOOLS !!

Sadly, the trend of fatal police shootings in the United States seems to only be increasing, with a total 716 civilians having been shot, 111 of whom were Black, as of October 2021. In 2020, there were 1,021 fatal police shootings, and in 2019 there were 999 fatal shootings. Additionally, the rate of fatal police shootings among Black Americans was much higher than that for any other ethnicity, standing at 37 fatal shootings per million of the population as of October 2021.

In recent years, particularly since the fatal shooting of Michael Brown in Ferguson, Missouri in 2014, police brutality has become a hot button issue in the United States. The number of homicides committed by police in the United States is often compared to those in countries such as England, where the number is significantly lower.

The Black Lives Matter Movement, formed in 2013, has been a vocal part of the movement against police brutality in the U.S. by organizing “die-ins”, marches, and demonstrations in response to the killings of black men and women by police.

While Black Lives Matter has become a controversial movement within the U.S., it has brought more attention to the number and frequency of police shootings of civilians.

Used to farm using only horses, so?

People who take more breaks at works are much more likely to get cancer. Therefore, taking breaks must cause cancer?

Correlation does not equal causation! Race has nothing to do with why some folks get shot by police just like taking breaks does not cause cancer (yet the statistic of people taking more breaks having a higher propensity of cancer is true)!

Every time Biden pulls another Biden: “Told ya so!”

NEVER FORGET VOTE EVERY DEMOCRAT and RINOS OUT….LET’S GO BRANDON!!!

Can’t wait to see DemocRATS in Orange jumpsuits. That’ll put a whole new spin on ‘Orange Man Bad’.

The only thing I wanna hear from democRATS is them crying while getting sentenced to prison for their treason.

Raise your hand if you miss “America First “.

Wasn’t that part of the $1.9 trillion COVID-19 relief package that Biden signed into law on March 11?

That bill passed in both houses of Congress with only Democratic support. It provided additional recovery money to lower-level governments, which could spend some of the money for law enforcement. But there was no requirement to do so.

The money is already there Joe. If IDIOTS(liberal/Democrats) hadn’t defunded the police, there wouldn’t be such a need. Let the LIBERAL SHITHOLES figure it out and pay for it themselves.

Why should we all have to pay for the stupid bullshit “Defund the Police!”, that ripped it’s way through the Democratic party? Let those that called for it, pay for it, not the rest of us.
