Cops remove intruder from Albert Lea high school

ALBERT LEA, MN. — Cops recently removed an intruder from Albert Lea high school.

On August 31, 2021 at approximately 8:35 AM, officers from the Albert Lea Police Department were dispatched to the Albert Lea High School for an intruder.

School staff called immediately and were able to contain the unwanted person in the lobby area of the building until officers arrived. Once on scene, officers were able to take the individual into custody and transported him to MCHS-Albert Lea for a mental health evaluation. Albert Lea High School was searched by officers and determined safe for regular operations.

The individual was identified as a 26 year old male from Rochester.
At this time, no further information is available.

The Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office assisted with the incident.
