MASON CITY – Police are seeking a suspect after a Mason City shooting incident leaves a man injured.
On Thursday, September 2, 2021 at 6:22 AM, the Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Office dispatch received a call reporting a male shooting victim at an address in the 19000 block of 290th Street in rural Mason City. Law enforcement arriving on the scene discovered a 63-year-old male with a non-life threatening gunshot wound. The male victim was transported to MercyOne Mason City where he is being treated.
The investigation into this incident is on-going.
At this time it appears this was a targeted incident and no further danger exists to the public.
The Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Mason City Police Department, Iowa State Patrol, and Mason City Fire Medics.
what the police dont know the victims name? he must be someone the police figure doesnt matter and its ok to go ahead and break in this mans home and gun him down. i doubt the man that got shot agrees. or the bullet holes in him were painless and no big deal. Rumor is the home owner won alot of money at the casino earlier and some crack whore that hangs out there taking advantage of his good nature falsely tipped off the scum bags for a bag of crack
