CORALVILLE – Authorities say they are investigating the death of an Iowa child molester in prison.
Carmon Noel Lyddon was pronounced dead due to natural causes at 8:11 a.m. on Sunday, July 18, 2021 at the Iowa Medical and Classification Center. Lyddon was 75-years-old at the time of his death. His convictions were for four convictions of the crime of Indecent Contact with a Child (709.12), Special Sentence Revocation 1st Offense (908.5[2]A), Special Sentence Revocation 2nd or Subsequent Offense (908.5[2]B), and four special sentence modifications of Special Sentence D Felony or Misdemeanors/10 Years Parole (903B.2). All convictions were from Polk County.
The incident remains under investigation, the Iowa Department of Corrections says.
