Four Northern Iowa female juveniles arrested after riot and assault

ESTHERVILLE – Four juveniles were charged with multiple charges as the result of an incident in Emmet County recently.

According to Emmet County Sheriff Mike Martens, on June 28th at 4:43pm the communications center received a 911 call from the Forest Ridge School in Gruver requesting help as several of the students were out of control. Upon investigation at the scene by the sheriff’s office four female juveniles were placed under arrest and charged with Assault causing bodily injury, participating in a riot and interference with official acts. Three of the juveniles were later transported to juvenile detention facilities in Cherokee, Sioux City and Eldora, Iowa.

The sheriff’s office was assisted at the scene by the Estherville Police Department.

“But they were just peacefully protesting, and nobody was getting hurt.”(as you see the burning buildings and hear the gun fire.)
