WATERLOO – A man drowned in a Waterloo park this weekend, police there say.
On Sunday, June 6, 2021 at 6:36 PM, Waterloo Police and Waterloo Fire Rescue were dispatched to George Wyth State Park for a possible drowning. When they arrived, they discovered a 30-year-old male had entered the water, went under and had not resurfaced. Waterloo Fire Rescue deployed boats and divers to search the area and located the male’s body in the area he was last observed.
His body was removed and cause of death is pending autopsy.
