Volunteers sought for Mason City Earth Day cleanup and festival

Mason City

MASON CITY – The Mason City Earth Day Committee has set dates for the city’s 27th annual community-wide cleanup and festival.

From April 19 – May 6, cleanup teams are asked to collect trash in designated areas of Mason City. Businesses, organizations, families of all sizes, and individuals are encouraged to be part of a team. For more information, to register your cleanup team and claim your cleanup spot go to the City’s website.

Due to COVID-19, an Earth Day Festival will not be held this year. Teams are encouraged to practice social distancing and wear gloves and masks.

In 2019, over 500 volunteers spent a total of 1098 hours cleaning up Mason City, collecting 6,800 pounds of trash!

For more information, contact Mason City Volunteer Coordinator Mary Litterer at 641-421-3372.
