MASON CITY – A juvenile and an adult suffered multiple stab wounds over a property dispute in Mason City, police say.
On Thursday, April 1, 2021, at approximately 6:26 PM, the Mason City Police Department responded to a report of a stabbing at 15th Street NE and Pennsylvania Avenue. Upon arrival, officers and paramedics from the Mason City Fire Department provided medical assistance to a juvenile male and an adult male with multiple stab wounds. Both were transported to MercyOne North Iowa for emergency care. A source told NIT both were in surgery and “both came out OK.”
Officers were able to identify the involved parties in this incident. The other involved persons are not from Mason City, but were known associates to at least one of the stabbing victims. The incident started as a dispute over property.
There is no ongoing threat to the community. The victims remain hospitalized at this time. This incident is not related to the homicide that occurred on March 31, 2021, in Mason City.
