Lime Creek offers outing to observe migrating waterfowl

Lime Creek Nature Center

MASON CITY – An outing to observe migrating waterfowl will be held on Saturday, March 27, from 8 a.m. – Noon beginning at the Lime Creek Nature Center. From the nature center participants will travel to local wetlands in Cerro Gordo County on a search for migrating ducks, geese, and other water birds. Kelly McKay, ornithologist with the BioEco Research and Monitoring Center, will lead the outing.

All levels of birding expertise are welcome. Binoculars and spotting scopes will be provided for those that need them. Participants are reminded to dress for the weather conditions.

Due to Covid-19 registration will be limited and social distancing will be practiced. Registration required – call 641-423-5309. Funding for this outing was provided by the Resource Enhancement and Protection – Conservation Education Program (REAP – CEP).
