Leon Max Smith, 65, passed away Friday, February 19, 2021, at MercyOne Des Moines Medical Center, IA.
Per his wishes his body has been cremated and no services will be held.
Leon was born September 9, 1955, the son of Robert and Mary (Davis) Smith in Mason City, IA. He gained his education from Rockwell-Swaledale High School. For most of his adult life he worked at the Quick-Shop in Clear Lake, IA.
In his free time he enjoyed bowling, fishing, playing cards and shooting pool.
Leon is survived by his siblings, Ladell Overbeck of Mason City, Jerry (Deb) Smith of Mason City and half-brother, Mike (Terry) Smith of Mason City; nephews, Cory (Michelle) Overbeck and Larry Overbeck; great-nephew, Colton Overbeck; uncle, Gerald (Shirley) Smith of Kentucky; as well as other nieces, nephews and cousins.
Leon was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
