Critical Senate elections in Georgia tipping towards Democrats

Reverand Rafael Warnock
ATLANTA, GEORGIA – Control of Congress is on the line and Democrats seem poised to assume the federal mantle of power as a critical election for two U.S. Senate seats wraps up in Georgia.

Reverand Rafael Warnock has already been declared the winner over Kelly Loeffler, the mega-rich incumbent Republican who was last seen with Donald Trump campaigning this weekend. She has been accused of campaigning with white supremacists and said that today, she would challenge the certification of the Electoral College, which Joe Biden handily won over Donald Trump, along with the popular vote by millions.

In the other contest, Jon Ossoff leads David Perdue by tenths of percentage points but the race has not been called yet. Perdue, a multi-millionaire incumbent Republican accused of insider stock trading, was also last seen campaigning over the weekend with Donald Trump.

Both Democrats welcomed incoming President Joe Biden in recent days to Georgia to help them on the campaign.

As this election unfolds, Donald Trump continued to tweet conspiracies about the voting process in Georgia, which is run by Republicans.

If Democrats hold on in this election, the U.S. Senate would be a draw at 50 Democrats (or independents leaning left) to 50 Republicans. Incoming Vice President Kamala Harris would be able to break tie votes on budgetary items.
