Commission on Presidential Debates promises changes to upcoming debates after Trump-Biden debacle

WASHINGTON, D.C. – An ugly performance Tuesday night has prompted the Commission on Presidential Debates to promise changes in upcoming debates between Donald Trump and Joe Biden.

In a statement released Wednesday:

The Commission on Presidential Debates sponsors televised debates for the benefit of the American electorate. Last night’s debate made clear that additional structure should be added to the format of the remaining debates to ensure a more orderly discussion of the issues. The CPD will be carefully considering the changes that it will adopt and will announce those measures shortly. The Commission is grateful to Chris Wallace for the professionalism and skill he brought to last night’s debate and intends to ensure that additional tools to maintain order are in place for the remaining debates.

Many viewers were shocked to watch Tuesday night at the endless bickering and interruptions that took place between Donald Trump and Joe Biden as hapless Chris Wallace struggled to maintain control, mostly of Donald Trump. Wallace repeatedly begged Trump to stop interrupting Biden and eventually gave Biden time back after a barrage of shouting and interruptions from Trump, who was reminded time and again that his campaign agreed to the rules of the debate.  Polls showed after the debate that Biden was favored as the winner, but staunch Trump supporters said otherwise.

We need Winnebago Man to moderate the next Trump debate.

watching the debate reminded me of the little boy who got mad and took his ball and went home

He was just showing himself!!!!!!

Trump says that the commission is favoring Biden because they want to be able to control the candidates. Typical BS from him. He wants to control it and if he can’t, he will walk. Wait and see.

Did I hear Trump lay out his plans? No. Could a Republican lay out their plans for the next four years? No. The RNC didn’t even come up with a platform (other than to say “whatever he wants”)that Trump can refer to what talking about his ideas for the future. Biden wasn’t able to more than 40 seconds before Trump broke in. He is a rude, narcissistic, bully boy who just lost his sh** on national tv – again.

Trump did lay out some plans. Joe was a no go. He forgot to ask Headboard Harris what the “plan” was, not that he would remember.

OK…I really like the “Headboard Harris” moniker. With your permission, I am going to run with it..

Duct tape for Don’s mouth!

98 minutes of pure embarassment for the once great country of the United States. 3 years ago other countries were laughing at us, now we’re held in great distaste, disdain even, because of the great embarassment that is “our” pResident.

Yeah, mute the damned microphones when it’s not the interupter’s turn! It should have been done 4 years ago!

It is a sad day in America that the Commission on Presidential Debates even has to come out and say “additional structure should be added” because Trump does not know how to act civil let alone Presidential.
