Mason City school district announces more in-person learning beginning October 5

MASON CITY – The Mason City school district announced more in-person learning beginning October 5.

The Mason City Community School District is planning to increase in-person learning in stages, the district announced this week. According to a statement, “after consulting with Cerro Gordo Public Health and monitoring our community, district and building level health factors, the first step of the district plan is for Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grade students to move to four days per week in-person learning starting on October 5, 2020. With this plan, Wednesday will remain a no school day for students. If the health factors of our community district and building continue to stay strong, we will bring the 3rd and 4th grade students back to school four days per week on October 26.”

A later sent to some parents reads:

A great challenge with more students in our buildings and in our classrooms is social distancing. We will continue to emphasize social distancing but staying six feet apart will not be possible in all situations. Students have been excellent at wearing face coverings and it will still be the expectation. Handwashing and hand sanitizing regularly is even more important with less social distancing. Keeping your children home when they feel ill has been extremely important to the health of our staff and other students. If your students ride the bus to and from school, social distancing will also be a challenge. We will continue to require the wearing of face covering on the bus and assigned seating.
Families currently in continuous learning (on-line) can opt into in-person learning beginning October 5. Families not comfortable in the change to four days of school per week may opt into continuous learning too. If you do opt into continuous learning we ask that you do so for the remainder of the semester, which ends January 15, 2021. Please call your building principal by September 28 if you wish to make either of these changes. The other buildings in the district (Pinecrest Center, Lincoln Intermediate, John Adams Middle School, Mason City High School and Mason City Alternative High School) will also be announcing their plans for increasing in-person learning sometime in the future. Each building’s plan is based on the current schedule and health conditions of that building. All plans will not be the same at this time.

Haha haha that’s funny….. if you look at the business that are all locked down etc etc you know which are beholden to government hand outs the most. It’s Gods way of separating those when the civil war has started.

Say it isn’t so we’re all going to DIE

LOCK IT DOWN !!! No school …. no work ….. only government hand outs
Please all be safe!!! The government shall save us all.

OK Bernie

what if one child contracts it and dies, that’s one to many. school board ever hear, if its not broke, don’t fix it!!!! hope that one is one of the boards children.

That is a sick reply. You are a sick person.

how can this be safe we need a statewide shut down

Or this is a big hokes just to harm Our President. Trump 2020

Ya, all the worlds scientists, all world leaders, hundreds of thousands nurses & doctors (democrat & republican) & all the state governors are in on this plot to fake Covid 19 just in a hope it hurts Trump’s reelection chances. Ya I am right there with you…..NOT

You should probably take a few of those classes to earn some credits toward your GED.

I’m a farmer. I don’t need a fancey daploma to root out this hokes on My President, the Best President ever, Donald J Trump. Take your heathan liberal ass out to my bean field and stand there when I roll up in my John Deere just for fun sakes.

You are a liar. A farmer does need a diploma to keep up with all the regulations, growing innovations, equipment and so on. I doubt you have ever been on a farm.

a diploma is not necessary to read and understand rules and regulations unless your a Democrat

OK. You are so wise, I will just accept what you say. That is kind of like you and the trumpster isn’t it?
