BETTENDORF – A man holding a knife to a child’s throat and threatening others was shot dead by Iowa law enforcement Thursday.
On September 3, 2020 at 11:53 AM, Scott county, Iowa Emergency Communications Center dispatched Bettendorf police officers to 1111 — 16 1/2 Street, Bettendorf regarding somebody bleeding and a subject holding a knife to the throat of a 4-year-old child. Multiple police officers responded to the residence at which point police announced their presence and made entry. Upon entry into the house, an officer engaged an adult male holding a sharp edged weapon, putting others in imminent danger. There were multiple young children present when this occurred. A Bettendorf officer discharged his weapon at the subject and subsequently, the subject was struck once and was pronounced dead at the scene. The subject is a Caucasian male, age 53. His name is not being released at this time pending notification of family.
No officers or citizens were injured during the incident. There is no threat to the general public.
The Iowa Department of Criminal Investigation (DCI) was contacted and the investigation has been turned over to them. They will be interviewing witnesses, collecting any and all video and audio recordings, and processing the scene.
As per departmental policy the officer has been placed on administrative leave and his name will not be released until he has been formally interviewed by the Iowa DCI.
Thank goodness he is Caucasian, or there would be riots in the quad cities. Caucasian are expected to follow the law, unlike minorities.

What difference does it make that the child attacker was black?? He threatened a child’s life!!! Oh, I get it! Only black guys do this to young kids, so it’s important to have that information to back up your claim that the shooting wasn’t racially motivated.

If the attacker had been black, the BLM/ANTIFA terrorists would have had to come to Bettendorf. They would of had to riot, because it would have been a black man shot by a white cop, doesn’t matter if the the black guy was trying to kill/rob/rape some one.

Shot after beating on a cop, being tazed to no effect, ignoring police about NOT getting in the stolen vehicle (stolen from the woman he took the keys from whom has filed rape/sexual abuse charges against him and has a protection/no contact/restraining order against him also), having an illegal weapon (described as a trench knife,which are illegal because of the built in “brass knuckles”), trying to get in the vehicle with children he isn’t supposed to be around.
