Floyd woman hurt in multiple-vehicle accident at dangerous Avenue of the Saints intersection

FLOYD, IOWA – A Floyd woman was hurt Tuesday in a multiple-vehicle accident at a dangerous Avenue of the Saints intersection.

According to the Iowa State Patrol, the accident took place Tuesday afternoon, July 28 at about 2:24 PM. Four vehicles were involved in an accident at the tricky intersection in Floyd to the Love’s convenience store.

Jill Ehrhardt, age 52 of Northwood, was driving a 2018 Ford Edge and stopped at a stop sign at the intersection of U.S. Highway 218 and Quarry Avenue. Ehrhardt entered the intersection and was struck on the driver’s side by 37-year-old Kyle Trytten’s 2008 GMC pickup. Then, the pickup entered the north lane of Highway 18 and struck a stopped 2016 Jeep Renegade driven by 64-year-old Janea Lavigne of Charles City. The Renegade was pushed backwards into a 2014 Chevrolet Silverado pickup operated by 61-year-old Wayne Nolt of Charles City. All the vehicles came to rest on the roadway and travel lanes were blocked.

Angela Connerley, age 45 of Floyd, was injured and transported by AMR ambulance to Floyd County Medical Center.

Dumb bitch should learn how to drive.

Get OFF your F ING phones when driving!!! PERIOD!!!

I drove by that intersection (going both ways) every 2 weeks for 3 years, NEVER saw an accident there.
If people put down their phones, and pay attention to the road, like they are supposed to, there would not be accidents at that corner.

Easier to blame the road than themselves though.

your first sentence is irrelevant.

The first sentence isn’t irrelevant, it refutes what others said. “They should just have an ambulance stationed there kinda like high school football games …….” or “guess the odds of getting in a accident at this corner are greater then catching covid 19”.

They are implying that accidents are very frequent, yet having never seeing one(happen or the clean up) there when going by, I would judge that they are not that regular of an occurrence.

Why did Jill Ehrhardt enter the intersection when there was a GMC pickup coming? You can’t blame the intersection for stupidity and careless driving. I believe if she would have either taken her eyes off her phone or her head out of her ass, the accident would not have happened.

Wicked area in winter too.

They should just have an ambulance stationed there kinda like high school football games …….

it’s o.e.! operator error.

The Avenue of the Saints must have been built on the cheap. I have never seen such a poor design for an interstate highway. Peoples lives are paying for it now.

It’s not an interstate highway. These people just need to get off the horn and watch the road. Good grief….

OK, The Avenue of the Saints must have been built on the cheap. I have never seen such a poor design for a highway. Peoples lives are paying for it now.

How mant fatalities have been at that intersection since Avenue completed

IF, people would not drink and drive, there wouldn’t be any drunk driving accidents, injuries, or deaths either.

Is a fatality, the only way an accident effects someone’s life.
