TERRE HAUTE, INDIANA – Dustin Honken is dead. He read a poem as his last words.  His last act in life was begging for mercy.

An unidentified individual was scheduled to inject five grams of Pentobarbital into Honken’s breathing body today at 3:00 PM in an Indiana prison. He would soon go unconscious and be moved to the death chamber. He was pronounced dead, per reports, at 3:36 PM today, July 17, 2020. He was 52 years old, killed at least 5 people and ruined many lives with his drug business.  Some say he lived decades too long.  May he be forgotten forever.  May his victims be remembered forever and rest in peace.

Last Words of Dustin Honken and Statement by Honken Attorney:

Below are the last words of Dustin Honken followed by a statement from his attorney Shawn Nolan.

As his last words, Dustin Honken recited the following poem by Gerard Manley Hopkins, SJ. who was an English poet and Jesuit Priest:

Heaven-Haven
I have desired to go
Where springs not fail,
To fields where flies no sharp and sided hail And a few lilies blow.
And I have asked to be
Where no storms come,
Where the green swell is in the havens dumb, And out of the swing of the sea.

The following is a statement from attorney Shawn Nolan on the execution of his client Dustin Honken:

“Dustin Honken was redeemed. He recognized and repented for the crimes he had committed, and spent his time in prison atoning for them. With Father Mark, Sister Betty, Cardinal Tobin and other religious mentors, Dustin worked every day at the Catholic faith that was at the center of his life. During his time in prison, he cared for everyone he came into contact with: guards, counselors, medical staff, his fellow inmates and his legal team. Over the years he grew incredibly close to his family, becoming a true father, son, brother and friend. There was no reason for the government to kill him, in haste or at all. In any case, they failed. The Dustin Honken they wanted to kill is long gone. The man they killed today was a human being, who could have spent the rest of his days helping others and further redeeming himself. May he rest in peace.”

He never admitted to anything, and he never apologized. Regardless of whether he did the actual shootings/killings of them all or any of them. It was his dealings that he did this for, both him and his gf, only to what? Save themselves from several years of prison for the drug charges? @ little girls were killed, INNOCENT LITTLE GIRLS. & the others, the witnesses, he’d gone to school with them in Britt, or had met them and was friends with, or at least aquaintance’s with. He got what he’d deserved. And she should have gotten the same, but I guess life in prison will have to do. All because they didn’t want to take the rap & do the time for the drug charges. & he says that McNeese only cared about himself?? He got Angela to tell where the bodies of the 4 were. He wasn’t thinking of himself only. He at least brought closure to their families and friends. I was working at Mercy in Mason as a nurse the day that they were found. & I’m an empath & that’s the exact road & approx area that I’d thought of where they were found, but I could not of course be positive on that, only surprised and saddened. & no, don’t play Highway To Hell, or be glad that he burns there, hell is too good for him.

he killed some little kids and also killed other people, which is about as sick as you can get. Its commendable that he tried to live a better life, but in the end you must pay for your crimes and he did with his life.

Pure Scum! Those little girls were sweethearts…and my neighbors!

I’m so sorry for the loss of your neighbors, poor beautiful innocent little souls.

Funny….they ALL find the Lord after they are caught and sent to DIE

The lives he affected dealing poison and helping kill and killing those he made money from….
should of been killed the second after found guilty

That’s not the right poem for him, he should have recited AC/DC’s Highway to Hell

Honk if you Hate Honken!

The attorney for Dustin Honken, Shawn Nolan has his head up his ass. Who is he trying to fool? Dustin Honken was a very dangerous criminal that committed heinous crimes against mankind! The poor families of the victims will never be the same. The only thing Dustin Honken is remorseful for is he didn’t get away with all his crimes! If I was Shawn Nolan, I would be ashamed of myself for the comments he made! My Dustin Honken live eternally in the fires of Hell!

Shawn Nolan is a federal public defender. Weird how he would release a statement condemning the execution when the DOJ is his employer.

He provided no message to the family. No apologies whatsoever but he was redeemed according to church leaders and his attorney. His last words spoke volumes with his non-existence of remorse.

Hope he’s buried locally so I can go piss on his grave.

Good bye Honken took longer than it should have.

ROT IN HELL HONKEN

How do you “change” that this man Killed two little girls after killing their mother. How do change this man beat a man to death after shooting him three times. He should have been put to death long ago.

LOL! Every inmate “finds Jesus” then if/when they’re released they return to the nasty previous lifestyles. It’s just the way it is. No one should ever think the new-found religion is a fact.

It’s a miracle how so many people turn to god when they are in prison . He did kill five people . I dont know if I believe in death penalty but I do believe only god decides who goes where .

To Mr. Nolan,

Regardless who the person Dustin Honken became, he chose his on fate many years ago. There are consequences for are actions, Mr. Honken chose and continued his drug operation and wrecked many life’s. He also committed premeditated murder, when he hunted down his victims, my eyes swell up still when I think of the poor little girls he slaughtered. He got exactly what he deserved. Now I hope our lord Jesus sends him to a eternal life in Hell!!!

Anonymous, I don’t disagree with you that Honken’s murders earned him the death penalty.
But as for his eternal destiny, Christ died for his sins, as for yours and mine. Only God knows for certain whether Honken’s professed faith in Christ was sincere, but if it was, he is redeemed and in heaven today.
Consider the thief on the Cross who repented and turned to Christ. He still had to die for his crimes, but Christ promised that “this day thou shalt be with Me in paradise.”
I am not God, Anonymous, and neither are you. I suggest you stop focusing on Dustin Honken’s eternal destiny and consider instead your own.

Hope he suffered in anguish!

Took way to long.
