Iowa man arrested for dealing drugs to a minor

WEST UNION, IOWA – An Iowa man was arrested for dealing drugs to a minor.

On July 14, 2020, at approximately 10:40 PM, the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office executed search warrants at multiple residences in West Union IA, in reference to a drug. During the search warrant execution illegal substances and multiple firearms were seized. Kenneth Eugene Gerleman Jr., age 18, was arrested and charged with Drug Distribution to a Minor, Class B Felony, Possession of a Controlled Substance 1st Offense Marijuana, Possession of Cannabidiol 1st Offense serious misdemeanors, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, a simple misdemeanor. Gerleman Jr. Was taken into custody and transported to Fayette County Jail, where he is currently awaiting initial appearance. Fayette County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by Fayette Police Department and West Union Police Department.

This investigation is ongoing and charges are still pending.

If convicted, Gerleman Jr. could face up to 27 years in prison.
