Kinney Pioneer Museum and Historical Society of North Iowa announces closure for 2020 Season

MASON CITY – Kinney Pioneer Museum and Historical Society of North Iowa would like to announce its decision to close for the 2020 season. At the recent Board of trustees meeting, the vote was unanimous to not open this season out of an abundance of caution given the current pandemic. It is an unfortunate situation because the museum attracts guests from all over the country and with special days that bring a significant number of patrons, however, all trustees agreed it is in the best interest of everyone to protect our staff, volunteers and guests from risks associated with this disease.

We are using the time that we are closed this year to work on projects that will improve and sustain the museum for future generations. We would also like to invite the public to support us during this difficult time by becoming official members of the museum. Our fee structure is $40.00 for a family and $15.00 per individual. We look forward to opening in 2021 with fresh exhibits and an exciting number of new features for our membership and the public.

That shouldn’t be all that’s closing down. Bars need to close. Iowa hasn’t seen the surge yet. Am surprised they plan on going full bore back into school this fall. Try as you might this winter could be the worst of the entire pandemic. That’s when it wreaked havoc on the other side of the world. Only China knows how many truly perished. Now it’s our turn with the coronie during the winter. When people tend to stay in from the cold. Is it possible Florida will surpass New York City as the hottest of the hot spots. If so they should be coming out of it by the middle of August. When those last Coronie checks will be issued. $2500 or in about there.
