New Hampton man cited after failure to yield at stop sign and clobbering another motorist

RURAL FAYETTE COUNTY – A New Hampton man has been cited after his alleged failure to yield at a stop sign and clobbering another motorist, totaling her car.

On May 20TH, 2020 The Fayette County Sheriff’s Office took a report of a two vehicle accident at the intersection of 242nd St. and Quarry Road. Upon arrival it was discovered that Matthew John Abbas age, 35 of New Hampton, IA was traveling westbound in a 2015 Ford F250 when he collided with Teresa Louck age, 67 of West Union, IA who was traveling southbound in a 2000 Pontiac Grand Prix. Louck was transported to Palmer Hospital in West Union with complaint of injury and the grand prix she was driving was deemed a total loss. Abbas was cited for Fail to obey stop sign and yield right of way (simple misdemeanor).
