Health department director to travelers: “Self-isolate now”

Hanft

MASON CITY – Cerro Gordo county’s health department director, Brian Hanft, says travelers should self-isolate in a statement released this morning:

Tuesday, 3/31/2020

One of the most frequently asked questions we’re receiving lately in the COVID-19 Call Center is from those who have recently traveled and wondering if they should self-isolate. The answer is yes! If you could, please help me share this message far and wide. It is highly recommended that Iowans self-isolate for 14 days in the following situations:

  • If you have traveled outside of Iowa for business or vacation in the last 14 days.
  • If you have been on an international cruise in the last 14 days.
  • If you live with someone who has symptoms of COVID-19 or has tested positive for COVID-19.

Those recommendations apply to those who don’t have COVID-19 symptoms as well. It important to take your temperature twice a day to see if you develop a fever. Monitor your symptoms. If you do begin to develop a fever, cough or experience shortness of breath, stay home and isolate from others in the house until you’re fever free for at least 72 hours, your other symptoms (cough and shortness of breath) have improved, and at least 7 days have passed since your symptoms first appeared.

Call MercyOne Health Line at 641-428-7777 to talk to a nurse about your symptoms and they will give you guidance if you need to be seen or if you can recover at home.

May Day will be Wham-O! As for the month of May…stay home again. The big corporations are already forecasting it. Keeping food joints open is just silly. Grocery and gas stations only. It’s airborne. Think of it as second hand smoke.

You are asking idiots to listen and exercise some common sense. Have you looked outside latley? Mason is filled with morons and it’s painfully obvious. My neighbors had like twelve people over for a barbecue yesterday, the stores are still crowded! People all over the place all the time. Nobody seems to understand the six foot rule. Idiots in the store walk right next to you or by you, stand close in line. Idiot Kim Reynolds needs to order a shelter in place about a month ago. She’s a stupid mean old drunk.

Strange, we were at Hy Vee Drug Store this morning and everyone was staying at least 6 ft away and there were very few people. Then we went to Target to get some grocery’s and again, there were very few people and the employees were all busy steralizing everything and everyone that was there respected everyone else and stayed at least 6 feet away. I wonder where you live and where you shop?

in a cave and shops to bitch

Cause all the pain you can now – BUT come November the same old Brilliant orangie will once again be crowned KING !

Better get ready for it in Iowa. Shelter in place is coming to a state near you by Sunday.

The American workers will be drowning in dept soon! If the swine flu, Pneumonia, suicide, driving or china flu don’t kill ya Inflation and taxes will.
The lucky ones will afford strawberry rat tart…can you say chicoms

Will cnn be the official state network?

What’s dept? Not sure I want to drown in it whatever it is.

What temperature is a, fever?

Be right back, driving to Gordonsville quick.
