Northern Iowa school evacuated after bomb threat

GRAETTINGER, IOWA – A Northern Iowa school was evacuated Tuesday after a bomb threat.

On February 18, 2020 AT 11:57 AM, the Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office was notified of a bomb threat at the Graettinger School. Deputies responded and coordinated the evacuation of the building with school staff and administration. The building was then searched and no explosive devices were located. The building was turned over to school officials at 3:00 PM.

Assisting in the search of the building were Troopers with the Iowa State Patrol, Conversation Officer with the Department of Natural Resources, Troopers with the Iowa Motor Vehicle Enforcement Division, and Special Agents with the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation. This incident remains under investigation by the Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office.
