WASHINGTON, D.C. – President Donald Trump was acquitted by the U.S. Senate on two articles of impeachment brought by the House of Representatives.
President Trump faced two articles of impeachment: (1) abuse of power by soliciting the interference of Ukraine in the 2020 U.S. presidential election, and (2) obstruction of Congress by directing defiance of certain subpoenas issued by the House of Representatives. The Senate adjudged that Donald John Trump, President of the United States, is not guilty as charged in the first Article of Impeachment by Yea-Nay Vote. 48 – 52. The Senate adjudged that Donald John Trump, President of the United States, is not guilty as charged in the second Article of Impeachment by Yea-Nay Vote. 47 – 53.
Both Iowa Senators, Joni Ernst and Charles Grassley, voted to acquit. Only Mitt Romney of Utah broke party ranks and voted to convict Present Trump, on the first Article of Impeachment. His statement is below:
Grassley criticized the House’s departure from longstanding congressional oversight procedures to accelerate impeachment. He reiterated the importance of protecting whistleblowers and judiciously examining whistleblower complaints – points he made early on in the impeachment process. And though he acknowledged the president’s duty to root out corruption, he noted that the president should have taken more care to avoid even the appearance of impropriety, especially given his congressional opponents’ long-stated desire to remove him from office. Grassley emphasized that, with the presidential election already underway, removing the president from office would deprive voters of the right to decide.
President Trump reveled in his acquittal and pummeled Mitt Romney for his vote to convict, tweeting, “Had failed presidential candidate Mitt Romney devoted the same energy and anger to defeating a faltering Barack Obama as he sanctimoniously does to me, he could have won the election. I have to say I am a political guy. Because of that I belong to the Cynic Party, though I do start each day with a feeling of hope. Now then, with the advent of Donald Trump arriving on the scene some of my cynicism has turned to hope. Mr. Trump is not a Democrat but nor is he a Republican in the true sense. Both of the “main” stream political parties are really Globalists and push the goals of the “New World Order” and Agenda 21. All the hoopla, hate, and constant character assassination surrounding Donald Trump are strictly because he has set their goals back. Now it is up to the rest of us to join the fight to save our REPUBLIC. We are under attack and at this point it’s a coin toss whether we save it or go down the road to Communism and Fascism. I am deeply concerned

The sham impeachment attempt concocted by Democrats ended in the full vindication and exoneration of President Donald J. Trump. As we have said all along, he is not guilty. The Senate voted to reject the baseless articles of impeachment, and only the President’s political opponents – all Democrats, and one failed Republican presidential candidate – voted for the manufactured impeachment articles.
In what has now become a consistent tradition for Democrats, this was yet another witch-hunt that deprived the President of his due process rights and was based on a series of lies. Rep. Adam Schiff lied to Congress and the American people with a totally made up statement about the President’s phone call. Will there be no retribution? Speaker Nancy Pelosi also lied to the American people about the need to swiftly pass impeachment articles they dreamt up, only to sit on them for a month before sending over to the Senate. In the Senate, the Democrats continued to make their political motivations clear – Rep. Schiff proclaimed the issues “cannot be decided at the ballot box” – proving once again they think they know better than the voters of this country. This entire effort by the Democrats was aimed at overturning the results of the 2016 election and interfering with the 2020 election. .
Throughout this wholly corrupt process, President Trump successfully advanced the interests of the United States and remained focused on the issues that matter to Americans. He spent his time achieving real victories for the people of this country, and the Democrats – once again – have nothing to show for their fraudulent schemes. .
And then President Trump gave the best State of the Union speech pretty much ever, spending much of it listing real achievements that help real Americans while Nancy Pelosi fumed behind him, offering a running commentary to her invisible friend. Trump played the Dems like Pete Townsend plays the guitar. Among the things Trump got them not to applaud for were: Record low unemployment, Record high stocks, Fair trade, Minority children not being stuck in failing government schools, People fighting cancer, Law enforcement, Our military, Killing terrorists, Not killing babies, America and God. Oh, and Trump hit his highest popularity in the polls ever, beating Obama at this point in The One’s reign.
Not a big surprise here. The three ring circus is filled with an assortment of bungling bureaucrats. Not to mention all the deranged clowns clamoring for attention. Politics is bought and paid for. What’s next. Bernie being shot out of a cannon.
