Nora Springs man sentenced for prostitution

NORA SPRINGS – A man now living in Nora Springs has been sentenced in connection to a prostitution sting in Clear Lake earlier this summer.

Brian Bruton, age 48 is currently being held in the Floyd County Jail. A source says that he was arrested on January 7 in Nora Springs. “There were many police cars there (possibly 7 or more) and were there a long time.”

Bruton was busted along with six other males and two females on May 29, 2019, on charges related to solicitation of prostitution. Bruton was charged with aggravated misdemeanor soliciting prostitution. In December, he pled guilty to that charge and was sentenced to 7 days in jail and $2,108.75 in fines and court fees.

Bruton does not appear, at this time, to be facing any new charges.

$2100 in fines?? What for? That will never be collected and the guy won’t be able to work. You have just made a lifetime criminal.

7 days jail, and I’m sure there is a job that will hire him, or self employed side jobs to pay his fines. If someone has fines the responsible thing to do is pay them, ge broke the law. What did you want, no fines or consequences for his criminal activity?? If he chooses not to pay his fines it’s because HE DECIDED not to. The responsibility lyes with him.

Everyone has to make a living the best they know how. Prostitution hurts no one if the woman is willing and the man is willing.

Prostitution should be legal!
